Social Expressions DJs was founded by George Rivero . At the time, with the popularity of disco , he started in high school selling recorded tapes to his classmates. As time went on, the craze of DJing began, and he took advantage of it to make extra money in high school and began DJing the school dances.
After he graduated from high school, he was offered his first DJ work at a club known as "Tuttles at the Charter Club. A small upscale nightclub in the heart of Miami. Famous celebrities such as Barry Gibbs would frequent the club.
His next job offer was at Gambits at The Miami Airport Marriott Hotel. Eventually he became the head DJ and created a unique club dance format that lasted for over 12 years at this location . The clubs music format was the only club in Miami that included slow jams as part of its nightly music rotation.
While spinning at clubs, he continued DJing at parties . He worked all kinds of events, from picnics, birthdays, to weddings. Anything that would keep him in touch with the love of DJing.
While working at the right place at the right time (aka Signature Gardens), he was approached & offered the exclusive DJ service for a new banquet facility concept known as Signature Gardens. This was a multi-function banquet facility. At this point, the name Social Expressions DJs was born.
While simultaneously handling club accounts, the addition to this facility gave Social Expressions the experience and know how of providing quality DJ service at an affordable price. The business relationship between Social Expressions DJs and Signature Gardens lasted well over 20 years!
In Addition, during this era, Social Expressions DJs also provided its services to The Sheraton Hotel (Daphnes), The Grand Bay Hotel (Regines) and various small nightclubs such as Big City Fish, Charcoals, Peacock Cafe of Bayside, The End Zone, Double Ds, Splendidos at the Gables and other clubs around South Florida.
The benefit of Social Expressions DJ doing nightclubs and private events is simple. Mr. Rivero believes that if you play the right type of music , at the right time, "people will dance". This has been the basic core of Social Expressions for over 25 years..
With the addition of The Rusty Pelican and The Doubletree Grand Hotel, to name of few, Social Expressions DJ came full circle.
Not only professional club DJs, but a preferred vendor to some of South Florida's most popular banquet/event facilities.
